Attacks can come from from any angle. They can manifest in the sneakiest of ways and come up against up without even noticing until we are taken under. This is why we always need to be ready.
Ever had a day that was going so great? Full of energy, you’re looking good, just want to spread love and joy to others..and then something happens. Maybe it’s something you see; someone gives you a condescending look, then your mind takes you to a place where you question why and you follow that path. Or maybe you are going through a hard time and you let hopelessness lead to thoughts of doubt and fear. So many things can take you to a place that just sends you tumbling into thoughts or even actions that are not even worthy of your time.
We can’t forget that there is good and evil in this world. Even though the good, Jesus, already won victory over evil when He died on the cross for us, evil still exists. It is creeping around seeping doubt, destruction, and lies into our lives.
1 Peter 5:8 Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour
Don’t get me wrong we can feel sad, angry, hurt and that doesn’t mean we have evil taunting us. But if we are starting to get to a place of thoughts that are consuming us, having us unable to concentrate on other things, bringing on fear or anxiety, and beating ourselves or others down…that’s when we need to examine what is going on. THAT is when we need to fight harder. To some this may sound extreme, maybe even laughing saying that I’m acting like this life is a war…well that’s because it is. Even though it’s a war that has already been won by Jesus, that doesn’t mean there aren’t still some on the other side trying to get us down.
Instead of letting these lies get to you, consume you, bring you to a place of defeat. Rise up mighty warrior! YOU are a fighter, you are an overcomer, you are powerful with the light living inside you!! Do not let anyone else make you believe otherwise. Show the other side what you are made of, and he shall run away.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he shall flee from you
