For you Pep- I don’t know why God decided to take you from the world at this time. And He knows I will miss you like crazy, but I trust that you are where you need to be. I hope you know that you never failed to make me smile. Your heart was pure gold and you lit up a room when you walked into it. Your witty comments were always so perfect, and your humor was one of a kind. I love you more than I ever told you, but I think you knew it anyways. You hold a special place in my heart, always have and always will. I hope you are enjoying the birds the never ceasing whistling and singing I’m sure you are doing now and forever.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Things happen in life that make you want to crawl in a hole, cry, or question why it happened. Things make you have regret for what you did or did not do. Life can be unfair. It can leave you broken, troubled, and without any peace.
That life can also be restored. Restored with hope, understanding, and peace. God does not want you to be alone. He doesn’t want you to dwell in the places of brokenness and sadness, he wants to help you out of it. He wants to bring healing and unconditional love.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Pslam 107:19-21
That last one, from Psalms, is my favorite one. They didn’t just ask the Lord for help, they cried out to him. God doesn’t just want to be there for you when you are good and cheery, nor does he want to only be there through the hard days. He want you through it all, at your lowest of lowest, when tears are streaming down your face and snot is all over the sleeves of your sweater (we all have those times). And that scripture does not say he may have saved them, no, he did save them from their distress. He healed them in the places that needed that care and rescued them from it all. His love really is unfailing. It is the greatest of loves we could ever ask for. Fall on him in this time and he won’t let you down. If you let Him in and allow Him to be there for you like He has always wanted to be, He will show you who He really is-a healer, protector, and comforter ♥
